I heard this is Microsoft's last Windows. From this point on it'll only be updates. Curious to say the least

Just saw the message. I'm gonna place a reservation. I fucking hated Windows 8. This one looks better, hopefully it is.

Idk microsoft had a habbit of useing releasing betas that aren't compatible with thing. Like windows 8 wasnt compatible with razer software for awhile. Im alittle aprehensive but i think i will.

I reserved it. It's supposed to be the last windows upgrade apparently, with just updates after that. Plus it's free, and if you don't like it you can revert back to your current version. There's absolutely zero reason to not try it.

I have. Should be interesting to see how bug free it is once RTM. Apparently lots of bugs in latest leaked builds.

Haha, apparently it is due to programmers not wanting to confuse windows 9 with 95 and 98 on accident in the code.

Microsoft dev here, the internal rumours are that early testing revealed just how many third party products that had code of the form

if(version.StartsWith("Windows 9")) { /* 95 and 98 */ } else {

and that this was the pragmatic solution to avoid that.
